(USGovernment-News.Com, August 30, 2012 ) Detroit, MI -- For over thirty years, the Lighthouse of Oakland County (LOC) has been providing inspiration and support services for low-income families throughout the Detroit, Michigan community.
By offering a full-range of services, LOC helps families and individuals transition from instability and crisis situations to stability, independence and self-sufficiency. Through their services and programs, LOC empowers clients to develop their potential and strengthen their communities. LOC offers its services through three (3) key programs: Lighthouse Community Development (LCD), Lighthouse Emergency Services (LES) and Lighthouse PATH (PATH).
Listed below are brief descriptions of each program:
Lighthouse Community Development (LCD): Through LCD, Lighthouse rejuvenates and revitalizes communities throughout Oakland County to help low-to-moderate income families secure affordable housing. In addition to helping families find housing, LCD also provides foreclosure intervention counseling and home ownership educational programs.
Lighthouse PATH (PATH): As one of the most valuable programs offered, PATH provides homeless mothers and their children with long-term housing in a safe and nurturing environment. PATH also provides women with the support services they need to achieve self-sufficiency and to establish a healthy family environment for their children.
Lighthouse Emergency Services (LES): LES provides services to individuals who need immediate and emergency assistance. Services offered include: emergency food assistance, housing assistance, medical assistance, utility assistance, case management and occasional transportation assistance. In addition to offering these services for families and individuals experiencing crisis and/or emergency situations, the services offered through LES is also available to seniors and individuals with disabilities.
