Yaz Lawyers Available to Review Pulmonary Embolism, Deep Vein Thrombosis Claims

(USGovernment-News.Com, May 22, 2012 ) New York, NY – The Yaz lawyers working with Class Action.org are available to review claims from patients who took Yaz or Yasmin birth control pills and suffered from a pulmonary embolism (PE) or deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Bayer has reportedly resolved hundreds of lawsuits surrounding its Yasmin line of oral contraceptives, paying out $142 million in settlements, which averages to about $218,000 per case. The drug maker is only settling claims for deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. If you suffered either of these venous clot injuries while taking Yaz or Yasmin, it may not be too late to make a claim. To find out if you can seek compensation for your Yaz blood clot claim, visit http://www.classaction.org/yaz-and-yasmin-settlements---1-55945.html for a free case review.

Approximately 650 Yaz and Yasmin lawsuits alleging that Bayer’s popular line of birth control pills caused sometimes fatal blood clots have been resolved with these settlements. Yaz, Yasmin and other birth control pills containing drospirenone have reportedly been linked to a higher risk of blood clots when compared to older pills, and in April 2012, the FDA announced that drospirenone-containing oral contraceptives would receive label updates to include more information on this potential risk. The labels will reportedly note that some research has found that birth control pills containing drospireone may triple the risk of blood clots.

Bayer has reportedly faced 11,900 lawsuits over its Yaz and Yasmin birth control pills, but is only settling claims for deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Deep vein thrombosis occurs when a blood clot forms in a vein deep inside a part of the body, typically the legs, while a pulmonary embolism develops when a blood clot travels to the lungs from another part of the body. If you suffered either of these blood clots while taking Yaz or Yasmin, you may still have legal recourse to recover compensation for medical bills and other damages related to your injuries.
