Recognizing a need within the community, a group of concerned and dedicated citizens teamed up and formed MadCAAP in 1985. Programs offered by MadCAAP include a housing program, emergency assistance, food pantry and a clothes and needs closet. Below is a brief description of each program:

Housing Program - MadCAAP's housing program consist of two parts: Housing Repairs and Krista Cottage. Housing Repairs typically include fixing broken windows, kitchen repairs, floor and/or wall repairs, bathroom repairs and floor and/or ceiling repairs. Under the Krista Cottage program, homes are built for low-income families with children. The Krista Cottage planned to begin construction in June will be for Annie Lee Griffin and her family who live in the Camden area.

Emergency Assistance- Families and individuals are offered assistance with utilities, prescription medications, rent and groceries.

Clothes and Needs Closet - Provides clothing and household items at no charge to families and individuals who need them. Boxes of groceries are distributed to families in need through the food pantry program at no charge.
