(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 15, 2012 ) Jackson, MS -- Living Independence for Everyone (LIFE) provides four core services of independent living: Peer support Information and referral, Skills training and Advocacy for people living with significant disabilities in Mississippi. LIFE’s mission statement reads, “The purpose of Living Independence For Everyone is to empower people with significant disabilities to be as independent and as fully involved in their communities as they can and want to be.”
In addition to it’s core services, LIFE also provides other independent living services to consumers with disabilities as needed. These services include, but are not limited to, home and vehicle modifications, durable medical equipment and supplies, adaptive technology, rehabilitation engineering and much more. All LIFE offices are directed by people with severe disabilities and are not limited to any one or more disability groups. LIFE is focused on providing services in the community and on non-institutional settings.
To help with funding, LIFE is hosting a golf tournament at the Natchez Trace Golf Club in Saltillo, Mississippi on June 9. Businesses and individuals are encouraged to sponsor a hole or come out and have some fun playing golf while helping a great cause.
