Allegedly, in this instance, the fire began in the compartment under the stovetop as a result of electrical short circuiting between two power circuitry wires to the front-left burner. He claims that the Kenmore oven fire caused damage to his cabinets, stove and built-in microwave. His range was said to be marked “Whirlpool,” while the vent hood was marked “Kenmore.”
