Propecia Sexual Side Effects May Be Irreversible

(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 04, 2011 ) New York, NY – Propecia sexual side effects may be irreversible, according to new research. Use of the drug has reportedly been linked to libido loss, erectile dysfunction and other potential Propecia sexual side effects in a review of existing studies, and in a small number of cases, these problems persisted even after the user stopped taking the drug. Because the manufacturer allegedly failed to warn patients about the chance that Propecia sexual side effects may be irreversible, men who suffered persistent libido loss, impotence or other sexual problems may have have legal recourse. To find out if you can seek financial compensation for Propecia sexual side effects, visit http://www.classaction.org/propecia.html for a free, no obligation case review.

In addition to these recent reports, a George Washington University study also revealed persistent and potentially permanent Propecia sexual side effects associated with use of the medication. The study suggests that finasteride, which is found in hair loss drug Propecia, can lead to persistent sexual dysfunction. Propecia sexual dysfunction may include reduced libido, orgasm problems and erectile dysfunction, according to the study. The research included results from interviews with 71 men between the ages of 21 to 46. It found that 69% experienced orgasm problems, 92% suffered erectile dysfunction, and 94% experienced a reduction in libido. The average length of finasteride use for the men was 28 months, but these individuals reportedly suffered from persistent sexual side effects for 40 months, on average, from the time they discontinued use.

Allegedly, while U.S. labeling for the product indicated that the drug may cause Propecia sexual side effects, it did not suggest that these problems could persist even after the drug had been stopped. Several other countries have required pharmaceutical companies to include the risk of persistent Propecia sexual side effects, but no such action has been taken in the States. If the manufacturer failed to properly warn patients and doctors about this risk, those suffering persistent Propecia sexual side effects may have a legal claim to seek compensation for medical bills, loss of quality of life and other damages.
