Gout is Exploding- Will You Be Caught in the Blast?

(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 05, 2011 ) Singapore, SN -- As you may already know, gout occurs when there is an excess of uric acid in the blood. There are several things that cause this to happen, and this marks the first stage of the disease.

If the disease isnÂ’t treated early, uric acid crystals will form in connective tissues and start to cause pain. This is the first easily noticeable symptom of the disease.

If youÂ’re wondering how to prevent gout in the first place, you should know that uric acid comes from the breakdown of purines in the body. Purines are naturally found in the body, and and many foods are high in these chemicals as well.

One of the best ways to minimize the amount of purines in the body is to avoid certain foods. There are a lot of foods in this category, and you will probably notice that most of them are animal products.

A few examples of things to avoid are beer, anchovies, organ meat, bacon, liver, and mutton. Other foods to avoid gout are fried foods, cream sauces and any other foods containing a large amount of fat.

If you already have gout and want to minimize flare-ups, you should avoid soda, cigarettes, flour, artificial sweeteners, salt, breads, pastries, sugar, and basically anything else you know is bad for you. These foods make your body very acidic, which can lead to a bad flare-up.

The good news is that when you start to display gout symptoms, there are things you can do to help. One of the best things is to primarily have gout diet foods to eat. Because your bodyÂ’s health is affected by diet more than anything else, itÂ’s extremely important to take in the right foods.

One of the best foods to help cure gout is the cherry. Cherries as well as dark berries contain chemicals that lower uric acid and reduce inflammation. If you canÂ’t find fresh berries or cherries, you can always buy frozen ones to get the same benefits.

If you don’t mind “fake meat”, you can try tofu products. These are made from soybeans and won’t make your body as acidic as meats do.

Celery, although a bit boring in flavor, is one of the most powerful vegetables to heal disease. It has been used for centuries to help treat gout and arthritis.

That said, almost any type of fruit or vegetable is going to help prevent and cure gout. Research has shown that the best foods for gout are also the best foods to have a healthy cardiovascular system. This generally means avoiding too much meat and eating a lot of plants.

In addition to what you eat, drinking a lot of water is beneficial for several reasons. Water helps your body have a balanced pH level, meaning it wonÂ’t get too acidic. Try to drink at least 8 glasses a water a day. This will both help your pH level and flush out excess uric acid in the body.
