Pre-paid Legal Services, Inc. Provides Representation and Advice to All Working Class Families

(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 04, 2011 ) Ann Arbor, MI -- Troy Attorney, Randy Ordway of Powers, Chapman, DeAgostino, Meyers and Milia, PC, which handles the Michigan clients for Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc., answers about 250 phone calls from clients every day. More than sixty thousand Michigan families today subscribe to Pre-Paid Legal Services.

Pre-Paid Legal Services, (PPL), was originally designed for families who couldn't afford traditional counsel for everyday matters. The service has emerged as an effective tool in todayÂ’s society.

Under the plans, PPL members typically make monthly payments between $17.00 and $26.00, and in exchange, they have a law firm on-call. So long as the legal matter is covered in the customer's given plan, a lawyer helps for no additional charge.

The American Bar Association

Robert Dzik sits on the American Bar Association committee that oversees group and prepaid legal services. "People need legal services almost as much they need medical services, especially during difficult economic times," he said.

In 2010, Forbes Magazine named Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. one of the best 100 companies in the United States.

As DetroitÂ’s working class families went through the recession, the participation in PPL services grew to an all-time high. "Our members, collectively, are law firms' biggest clients, so they get the VIP treatment in term of quickness and responsiveness," said Leslie Fisher, vice president for Attorney Resources for Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc.

"A lot of people are dealing with legal issues they've never encountered before, things like foreclosures, termination issues and unemployment as a result of the economy," Ms. Fisher said. "We say that our legal plan is a life-event legal plan."

Protective, Life-Event Legal Services

A family plan through Pre-Paid Legal Services Inc., for example, costs $26 per month, PPL offers its Life Events Legal Plan. The plan covers a wide variety of legal services such as legal consultation and advice, letters and phone calls made on the memberÂ’s behalf, contract and document review, will preparation, assistance with traffic moving violations, trial defense services and IRS audit assistance.

Pre-Paid Legal Services gives members access to the legal system not just for traditional legal problems. Legal events can be among the most important events in a person's life, yet there is a tendency for people to take action without proper legal review. For Pre-Paid Legal members, access to legal counsel is only a toll-free phone call away.
