(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 19, 2010 ) Las Vegas, NV - Stavan Corbett, Candidate for Nevada State Board of Education District 5, picked-up two major endorsements, one from the Las Vegas Review Journal who said, “Mr. Corbett edges his inexperienced opponent” and another from the Las Vegas Sun, adding that “Mr. Corbett impressed us more by his knowledge and understanding of the community and of the schools.”
Corbett, a former charter school teacher and now Chief Operating Officer of Luz Community Development Coalition, an educational nonprofit organization, has been working with youth, parents and teachers for many years. Mr. Corbett's experience as an executive, in balancing budgets and finding effective solutions to move an organization forward is extraordinary.
A married father of three children in the public school system, Corbett understands first-hand the challenges parents are facing. Corbett sees the disconnect between education policy and implementation and as a parent, husband and community leader, wanted to be part of the solution and decided to run for the State Board of Education District 5 to help bridge the gap.
Corbett hired Campaign Consultant Jay Matos, who said, “Stavan Corbett is a sharp man, he knows who he is, where he is going and how he is going to get there; that has enabled us to finish our task and reach our goals much faster and with momentum on our side. The staff and volunteers have a clear direction, with one objective: Vote for Stavan Corbett Nevada State Board of Education District 5. He’s the best choice.”
