Martial Arts Instructors Who Were Denied Overtime Pay May Be Entitled to Back Wages

(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 06, 2010 ) New York, NY – The overtime lawyers working with IQOvertime.com are available to review claims from martial arts instructors who regularly work more than 40 hours per week and have been denied overtime pay. Unless specifically exempt from overtime law, martial arts instructors are entitled to receive 1.5 times their regular rate of pay for every hour worked in excess of 40 during a single workweek. If you have been denied overtime pay as a martial arts instructor, visit http://www.iqovertime.com/martial-arts-instructors-unpaid-overtime--41504.html to find out if you can recover back wages.

Time-and-a-half compensation must be paid to all non-exempt employees who work overtime, and martial arts instructors are generally entitled to this premium pay when working more than 40 hours a week. To be ineligible to receive overtime pay, an employee must earn an annual salary of at least $23,600 and perform the job duties of an exempt employee. Federal overtime law divides exempt job duties into three categories—executive, administrative, and professional. Martial arts instructors who do not fall into one of these categories or are not paid a salary of at least $23,600 per year are entitled to overtime pay.

Martial arts instructors, including those teaching Kung Fu, Karate, Jiu Jitsu, and Taekwondo, who were denied overtime pay may be able to participate in a lawsuit to collect up to three years of back wages. To find out if you are eligible, visit http://www.iqovertime.com/ and complete the free case review form. The overtime attorneys working with IQOvertime.com are offering this initial consultation at no cost and are dedicated to protecting the rights of martial arts instructors and other workers who were wrongfully denied overtime pay.
