9 Deaths in Philly Possibly Linked to Heroin, Drug and Alcohol Rehab New Hampshire Responds

(USGovernment-News.Com, December 09, 2016 ) Concord, NH -- ABC Action News reports that Philadelphia police are investigating a possible link between nine deaths over the first weekend of December. All nine deaths were caused by drug overdoses and may potentially be linked to a tainted batch of heroin seen in the area. The so-called 'bad batch' of heroin has been circulating throughout Philadelphia for about a month, but no official findings has determined what additive is increasing the deadly nature of the heroin or if these deaths are linked.

For facilities that provide recovery services through New England, instances of cluster overdose deaths are especially tragic. Heroin rehab in New Hampshire has seen the ill effects of the drug- but pure and tainted. As a facility on the front line of defense in the state, Drug and Alcohol Rehab New Hampshire urges the citizen of Philadelphia to be aware of the dangers of substance abuse.

A representative of Drug and Alcohol Rehab Boston comments,
"While many of us are aware of the adverse effects of substance abuse, for some the all consuming urge to use mitigates concerns about health or safety. That is the nature of addiction- it consumes the mind and implants itself as priority above all else. Unfortunately, that mental state makes those with substance abuse disorders especially susceptible to the ill and potentially fatal effects of tainted batches, such as in this case. We are seeing an alarming increase in heroin-related deaths due to doctored batches increasing the danger for the sake of profit. If you or someone you know is struggling with heroin abuse, know it is possible to quit and help is always out there."
