(USGovernment-News.Com, November 06, 2016 ) Newark, NJ -- News10ABC reports that Pennsylvania governor Tom Wolf signed five new laws in order to combat the prescription opioid abuse epidemic impacting the state. These laws include measures that limit opioid prescriptions from emergency rooms to a seven day supply and allow law enforcement agencies, hospitals, nursing homes, and licensed pharmacies to act as safe drug drop-off locations. Additionally, the laws will focus on properly training medical students in prescribing processes, disposal of unwanted medications, and identifying risk for addiction.
