(USGovernment-News.Com, August 12, 2016 ) Denver, Colorado -- To educate kids on the effects and dangers of marijuana, the North Metro Drug Task Force went into Westminster High School. On 4/20, the unofficial celebration of marijuana, the task force rallied up large groups of students from Adams County schools to share their own personal knowledge on marijuana use. The task force made a competition of the knowledge the students were sharing. Students had the opportunity to create projects on the topic of marijuana use to teach and educate their peers about how marijuana can affect a person and their health. Drug and Alcohol Denver asserts that the education of drug use early on will allow younger kids to be less likely to use drugs later on in life. By warning kids of the consequences and dangers associated with marijuana, they will understand how harmful the drug is.

"By introducing the harms and dangers of drug use early on, teens will most likely not use drugs as they grow older. By learning about this topic from another peer, they will feel more inclined to listen to the knowledge they are given rather than if a parent or teacher spoke to them about the topic. The North Metro Drug Task Force is doing a good thing by allowing teens to reflect on their own experiences with drug use and share their message with their peers. The students sharing this message are not only learning from their own experiences, but also sharing their knowledge."
