4 Lbs. of Cocaine Hidden Coffee Seized at Miami-International Airport, Miami Drug Rehab Comments

(USGovernment-News.Com, October 10, 2015 ) Miami, FL -- The Miami New Times reports that U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officers working in the Miami-International Airport intercepted a suspicious package destined for New Jersey from Peru on October 6th. Strange x-ray readings lead to further investigation and officers discovered the package of coffee concealed 4.1 pounds of cocaine. Since January 2014 more than 80 pounds of cocaine and heroin have been found in shipments of flowers travelling from Columbia and Ecuador.

Miami Drug Rehab, a leader in the addiction and substance abuse industry in South Florida, appreciates the continued efforts of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officers in preventing illicit substances from entering the country. As a rehabilitation facility offering addiction treatment in Miami, Miami Drug Rehab knows that a pivotal aspect of addressing the drug abuse epidemic in the U.S. is limiting and eliminating the flow of illegal drugs into the country.

A representative of Miami Drug Rehab had this to say:

"While organizations such as Miami Drug Rehab and other drug treatment facilities in Miami work tirelessly to help those afflicted with substance abuse disorders, the problem is beyond treating the outcome. Law enforcement facilities aid in the fight against addiction by combating the flow of illegal drugs into the U.S. where it can destroy lives and cause significant damage to families and communities. The U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officers are America's first line of defense against drug trafficking. The brave men and women who dedicate themselves to the cause of protecting our land against the onslaught of drugs and harmful chemicals deserve our respect and gratitude just as much as all other branches law enforcement."
