Help Honor Fallen Houston Police Department Officer - "Wear the Blue" on Friday

HPD Officer Richard Martin will be laid to rest on May 22nd.

Wear the Blue - Houston 2015 by Craig Clayton Sr.

(USGovernment-News.Com, May 20, 2015 ) Houston, Texas -- This Friday, May 22nd HPD Officer Richard Martin will be laid to rest. Show your support by ‘wearing the blue’ on Friday as a way to let the family of Officer Martin and the HPD and peace officer community know we appreciate and respect what they do for our community!

May 11-17 was National Police Week established by President John F. Kennedy as National Police Officers Memorial Day. Houston has once again suffered the loss of one of the HPD Officers who provide “Order Through Law & Justice With Mercy” for the City of Houston.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE: Utilize this opportunity to talk with your family, your coworkers, your students, and your friends about ways to create a community that places value on treating people with dignity and respect. This would honor the life of this fallen officer and his grieving family including his 11 and 12-year-old children and fellow officers in blue.

Schools, companies, hospitals, places of worship, TV personalities, restaurants, retail stores, and more can all make this small gesture and create a statement. When we find ourselves in harms way, we can count on these brave men and women. Now it is our turn to show them we care and respect what they do.

RESPECTMATTERS.ORG: This act of community partnership is part of what ‘respect matters’ is all about. The RESPECT MATTERS CAMPAIGN is a Gulf Coast workplace and community campaign designed to create dialogue about the importance of respect in all we do. Workplaces, schools, places of worship are all places where there should be no shortage of respect. (RESPECT MATTERS IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION)

Help us to make Houston a place where there is an inclusion revolution. Each of us has a vested interest to help make Houston become a place where dignity and respect become the standard in the places where we work, live, attend school or practice our own faith beliefs.
