(USGovernment-News.Com, April 07, 2015 ) Boise City, ID -- Just before before 9 a.m. this morning, an accident involving multiple vehicles caused part of I-184 to be blocked off.
As confirmed by the Idaho State Police, the wreck was caused when a vehicle in front of a large commercial truck suddenly slammed on their brakes – an action that is known to be dangerous. The truck then swerved into the middle lane, hitting both a Jeep and a Ford Fusion.
An empty Bobcat utility machine was loaded on the truck’s flatbed trailer, which toppled onto the road and blocked two lanes, backing up traffic for the following three hours.
Luckily, no injuries were reported from the accident, although Boise truck accident lawyer Craig Swapp says that pain often does not appear until later on.
To avoid ending up in a similar crash, it’s important to know how to properly share the road with 18-wheelers.
As mentioned above, braking slowly and with enough space is a major safety rule of driving near large trucks. A few others include:
• Stay positioned where they can see you in their mirrors.
• Double your length between vehicles.
• They take wide turns, so pay attention to their turn signals.
• Your movements should be as patient as you expect theirs to be.
• Don’t squeeze in front of them. You can’t be seen as well.
• Don’t tailgate. Debris can land on (or through) your windshield.
