Safeguard Defender Launches a New Electronic Barking Dog Alarm

(USGovernment-News.Com, February 18, 2015 ) Dlaas, Texas -- Statistics prove that having a barking dog inside a home is a more effective deterrent for potential intruders than a security alarm system. Burglars and prowlers are looking for easy target homes. They do not want to encounter a large dog such as a German shepherd.

Many dogs can bark at 100 dBA. Even at 17.5 yards away and with the dog outside a closed window, the noise level of a barking dog can be well over the level that causes psychological distress.

There is suggestion of moderate deterrence from barking dog sounds in the 1980s Kirkholt Crime Study (in north west England). Findings from a small group of active burglars (Cromwell et al., 1991; n=30) indicated that for a sample of 30 active offenders, 90 per cent stated that they avoided selecting houses that appeared to be occupied and 70 per cent were deterred by the presence of a dog. Advice to homeowners from Crimestoppers (an official English crime prevention organisation), an ex-burglar said avoid 'Beware of the dog' signs. They are a sure indicator that is not an alarm at that property. A thief will also think that the dog owner probably leave your back door open to let the dog into the garden. The same goes for an 'I love cats' sign, or something similar.

The Electronic Barking Dog Alarm contains a motion sensing radar which penetrates through wood, cement, brick, glass, etc. When an intruder enters the guarded area, it automatically begins barking like a large angry dog. From outside, it sounds like there is a very unfriendly dog inside. It also can announce visitors with a chime or alarm. The radar sensitivity is adjustable from 10-20 feet. Volume is also adjustable.

Dimensions 6 x 7 x 4 3/4. Powered by AC power supply. Also takes 8 AA back-up batteries (not included) in case of power loss. Unit needs to face in the direction desired to detect motion. Detection is limited from the sides and rear.

The included remote control allows arming and disarming the system, as well as set off a Panic alarm. 16 additional sensors (HA-MOTION or HA-SENSOR) can be connected to monitor larger areas.

The unit can be used for homes, apartments, mobile homes, RVs, jewelry stores, hotels, public and private buildings of virtually every kind.
