United Way of Broward County launches new affinity group, led by Michael Wild

(USGovernment-News.Com, February 05, 2015 ) Fort Lauderdale, FL -- Thanks mainly in part to the out-of-the-box thinking of attorney Michael Wild, United Way of Broward County recently launched its newest affinity group, Envision Broward. Members of Envision Broward are philanthropic leaders focused on improving the quality of life in our community and commit to an annual philanthropic gift to United Way of Broward County of $2,500 or more.

"Envision Broward members are passionate advocates for United Way of Broward County and are dedicated to helping make Broward County a better place to live, love, work and raise a family. These leaders are setting the standard for philanthropy in our community," said Kathleen Cannon, president and CEO of United Way of Broward County.

United Way recently celebrated the launch of Envision Broward by recognizing the group's "Founding Forty" members at O Lounge in Fort Lauderdale. Envision Broward is chaired by Michael Wild of Wild Felice & Partners, P.A., who is a long-time supporter of United Way and has been involved with the affinity group since its inception. He even came up with the name.

"This is a group unlike any other in the world of nonprofits," Michael Wild explained. "There is currently a disconnect between the Young Professional and the Retired Benefactor. The professionals that compose the Founding Forty of Envision Broward are not considered emerging; we have emerged. We are a combination of people who control our own calendars, checkbooks and books of business and we want to use our resources to improve Broward County, not only with fundraising and awareness but also by rolling up our sleeves and generating actual change."

Envision Broward has already begun to make their mark in Broward County. The group has committed to adopting three local schools as part of United Way's Club Connect Adopt-a-School program. Each adopted school will receive physical books, reading resources, and parent engagement tools.
