(USGovernment-News.Com, January 28, 2015 ) Jackson, MS -- Summer will be here before we know it, and Camp Pioneer is now accepting applications for the 2015 season that starts on June 1.
Camp Pioneer is a sleep-away summer camp that was established over 65 years ago by Pioneer Ministries. Their mission is to provide a spiritually-sound education for children ages 6-18 in hopes of forming good and strong citizens for the future. They are affiliated with the Christian Camp and Conference Association.
While the children stay at the camp, each morning will begin with Bible class. From there they will participate in various outside activities as life lessons are learned, and bonds are built with one another.
The facilities boast an 8500 sq. foot gym, a 3-acre lake, a multiple courts used for sports. There is also a dining hall where the children are well-fed and a counseling center for heart-to-heart meetings.
The camp initially opened its doors at Piney Woods School and since then has continued to thrive on the weekly tuition of campers, along with the help of contributors such as Jackson personal injury lawyer Richard Schwartz and other donators.
