Traffic Death Rate Up in South Carolina

(USGovernment-News.Com, January 05, 2015 ) Charleston, SC -- South Carolina officials have reported that the number of traffic fatalities in 2014 proved to be higher than what occurred in 2013.

As one South Carolina Highway Patrolman, Lance Corporal David Jones, explains it, they divide the year into fourths and analyze the data from each quarter. This system is referred to as the Collision Reduction Enforcement Plan Data, or CREP, and it helps officers detect where people are committing certain traffic crimes the most.

Jones goes on to rationalize that one reason why the death rate has increased is because there are more travelers on the road in that area. He states, “As a result of more traffic, motorists should come to expect to see more law enforcement presence too.”

The Highway Patrol also believes that speeding, alcohol, and not wearing a seatbelt are the three biggest contributing factors of traffic fatalities.

Interstate 20, Highway 1, and Interstate 26 were three of the major roads that these deadly accidents happened to occur on.

Once again, they urge drivers and passengers alike to make use of their seat belts.

Surviving victims of traffic accidents in the area may need the services of an attorney such as Charleston car accident lawyer Bill Green at the Green Law Firm. His office can be reached by live chat at https://billgreen.law or by dialing (888) 795-1018.
