Kuerig Recalls 7M Machines After Reported Burns

(USGovernment-News.Com, December 24, 2014 ) Atlanta, GA -- Most Americans prefer to start their morning with a “cup of joe,” and many give praise to their trusty Keurig coffee maker for getting coffee in their cup faster and easier than traditional electric brewers. The brand’s innovative K-Cups put them in the spotlight, and have become one of the most popular modern items in both kitchens and offices today.

Certain models of the Mini Plus Brewing System, made by Keurig, have been found to be potentially dangerous. The system can overheat and cause water to spray out while brewing. The company admits that they have already received about 90 reports of burn injuries that were caused by these quick-brewers. In addition, there have been around 200 complaints of hot liquid escaping from machines.

Due to these issues, a product recall has been put in order, which targets around seven million of the coffee machines, which were sold between 2009 and 2014 throughout both The United States and Canada.

Owners of the Kuerig Mini Plus Brewing System should look for the identification number on the bottom of the machine. If the number begins with a 31, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer, not the store it was purchased from, in order to arrange for a free repair.

Burn victims in Georgia are welcome to discuss their incident with an Atlanta personal injury lawyer from the law office of John Foy & Associates. Mr. Foy usually works as an Atlanta car accident attorney from his office on Peachtree Road, but accepts other cases of personal injury as well. Consultations are always free.
