GSA Acting Administrator to Retire after 36 Years of Service

(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 27, 2008 ) WASHINGTON -- GSA Acting Administrator David L. Bibb today announced his intention to retire from government service effective September 1st to pursue an opportunity within the real estate industry. Bibb has been contemplating retirement since the fall of 2007. He is currently the Acting Administrator for the agency, and has also been serving as GSA's Deputy Administrator since 2003.

BibbÂ’s renowned career with GSA began in the agencyÂ’s Atlanta office in 1971 as a Management Intern. During his tenure at GSA he has held several executive level positions including Assistant Commissioner for Planning and Deputy Commissioner within GSAÂ’s Public Buildings Service (PBS) and Deputy Associate Administrator for Real Property within GSAÂ’s Office of Government-wide Policy (OGP). He was also instrumental in the development of a number of innovative environmental and workplace initiatives that have now become standard practice at GSA.

He has twice received the AdministratorÂ’s Distinguished Service Award, GSAÂ’s highest honor.
