Clients are asked to provide feedback on the firm’s expertise, responsiveness, civility, and more. Lawyers are asked to vote based on some of the same factors, in addition to cost-effectiveness and whether they consider the firm a worthy competitor. The law firm is then asked to provide general demographic and background information on the firm and its attorneys.
Tier 1 in each metropolitan area includes firms within a certain percentage of the highest scoring firm(s); Tier 2 is comprised of firms that scored within a percentage of the next highest scoring firm(s), and so on. In order to be eligible for the submission process, a law firm must have at least one attorney who has been listed in the current edition of Best Lawyers.
