(USGovernment-News.Com, October 17, 2013 ) TULSA, OKLA. – A 26-year old man will spend the next year in a psychiatric facility after jumping into the Bronx Zoo’s tiger den.
The man reportedly jumped from a monorail train touring the zoo’s Wild Asia exhibit scaled a fence and jumped into the Siberian tiger’s exhibit. The man was then attacked by the tiger and seriously injured.
Bashuta, the 400 pound Siberian tiger, bit the man on his body causing him to break his shoulder, ribs, pelvis, and ankle, while also collapsing a lung. It wasn’t until workers were able to use a fire extinguisher to chase the tiger away that zookeepers were able to enter the cage.
According to the police officer report the man said it was “a spiritual thing” and that he wanted to be “at one with the tiger”. The man is placing the blame on Adderall, however may be facing a year’s time in a mental health facility.
