New Research Suggests Exposure to BPAs could Increase Risk of Miscarriage Reports The Bell Law Firm

(USGovernment-News.Com, October 16, 2013 ) Charleston, WV – A new study by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) presented at the ASRM’s annual meeting suggests that high levels of exposure to BPAs could increase the risk of miscarriage.

Researchers recruited 114 women in the early stages of pregnancy and took blood samples early in the research process and then after the birth of their child or after a miscarriage. It was found that women who reported miscarriages had higher levels of BPAs in their blood samples than those who had live births. Women with the highest levels of BPAs had an 80 percent increased chance of suffering from a miscarriage.

Although it is suggested that the research is not enough to prove a direct link it adds to the plausibility and hazards of BPAs.
BPAs, short for bisphenol-A, can commonly be found in many plastics and food liners. The chemical has been removed from baby bottles and many reusable drink containers but can be found in plenty of other items. According to the Food and Drug Administration the use of BPAs in food containers is not a problem.

Until further research is conducted the link between BPAs and miscarriages will still be uncertain. However those who wish to avoid exposure to BPAs should limit their use of canned foods, avoid leaving water bottles in the sun, and avoid cooking or warming food in plastic containers.

If you or a loved one has been injured after being exposed to a toxic chemical, the victim may be entitled to compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and more.
