(USGovernment-News.Com, October 08, 2013 ) WAYNE, NEB. – The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado that tore through Wane, Nebraska on Friday evening was an EF-4 and included wind speeds of over 170 miles per hour.
Residents are continuing to clean up after multiple tornadoes swept through the Nebraska town and surrounding areas. The tornado caused major destruction of the Industrial Park area of the east side along with the Wayne Municipal Airport.
As a result of the tornado there were fifteen people injured, while no-one was killed.
The night before an EF-2 tornado ripped through parts of Bennet and Hickman in southeast Nebraska, peaking at 120 mile per hour wind speeds. These incidents caused residents to become left without power, water, and in some cases roofs over their heads.
The National Weather Service indicated that this is the 6th time since 1950 that an EF-4 tornado has hit Wayne on Friday.
