Tapella & Eberspacher Report Drunk Driver Pleads Guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter

(USGovernment-News.Com, September 17, 2013 ) ST. LOUIS, MO — Patrick Mullen, 26, of St. Charles was sentenced yesterday in the death of St. Louis Alderman Gregory Carter, 54, which took place on Highway 370 in St. Charles a year ago. At the time of the accident, Mullen was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and later released.

Carter was killed on impact in the St. Charles DUI car wreck when his UPS truck was unable to avoid a group of semi-trucks gathered on the side of the road as a result of Mullen hitting one of them. In court, Mullen admitted to having been drunk at the time of the accident and was sentenced to jail time and two years of probation in addition to substance abuse treatment and alcohol restrictions.

Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol has serious consequences not only for the future of the negligent drivers, but the ramifications for the accident victims and their families can alter their lives forever and do irreparable damage.

If you or someone you love was injured by a drunk driver, you may have a claim for personal injury that can entitle you to compensation for the pain and suffering you endured, as well as cover medical expenses incurred through the accident.
