(USGovernment-News.Com, August 28, 2013 ) RALEIGH, N.C. – On the evening of Saturday August 24, a Ford Ranger pickup truck traveling west on Holloway Street rear-ended the vehicle in front of it, causing that vehicle to cross over the center lane and collide with a motorcyclist traveling east.
Charges are pending against the driver who negligently rear-ended the vehicle in front of it, causing the chain reaction of accidents. Abel Mondragon, the driver of the Ford Ranger, was not hurt while motorcyclist Stacie Miller was transported to a local hospital with broken arms and legs.
The wreck is still under investigation but driver negligence clearly played a role in the cause of the crash. Car-versus-motorcycle accidents can be extremely dangerous for either party, as motorcycles have very little protection from a crash without any physical barrier, and drivers are at risk of a speeding motorcycle becoming a deadly projectile as it crashes.
