(USGovernment-News.Com, August 14, 2013 ) Fayetteville, NC - On Monday around 10:30 p.m., Fayetteville police officers were called about a shooting on Scotland Drive.
When police arrived to the scene a man was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. The man was later pronounced dead.
Prior to the shooting, the man was walking with his friend to purchase cigarettes when they were cut off by a vehicle and money was demanded. The man’s friend handed over $3, while he told them he had nothing to give. He was then shot in the chest.
The man has two kids with his current girlfriend and had recently moved to the Fayetteville for employment and to escape the violence in Greenville. At this time the man’s body is en route to Kinston for burial and no suspects have been named.
According to Neighborhood Scout, Fayetteville has 1,061 violent crimes annually including 25 murders, 56 rapes, 502 robberies, and 487 assaults.
