(USGovernment-News.Com, August 07, 2013 ) Durham, N.C – The Roberts family came home to an unexpected surprise as a vehicle crashed through their home on Monday afternoon. Although the family was not home at the time of the collision family members rushed to the house after they heard the news.
A 41-year-old man was taking his driving test when he lost control of the driving school’s SUV and slammed into the Roberts home on Cook Road.
It is unknown if the driver was speeding at the time of the crash or if he simply mistook the accelerator for the brake. The crash is still under investigation and no injuries have been reported.
In North Carolina more than 208,000 car accidents were reported throughout the state in 2011 with more than 64,000 involving sports utility vehicles. Furthermore, Durham specifically had the 3rd highest amount of reported accidents in the state with more than 9,000 collisions on record.
