The firm wishes to express their sympathy for those who were injured Saturday when Anthony Sabala, 65, of Sacramento, crossed from Highway 99 onto the northbound lanes of I-5. Sabala was allegedly driving the wrong way when he caused two accidents. According to a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman, Sabala has been arrested and is facing charges of felony DUI.
The first accident involved a blue Honda, which swerved to avoid Sabala’s vehicle and hit a silver Mercedes SUV. The SUV’s driver complained of pain and was transported to the hospital. The second collision occurred when a white car traveling behind the blue Honda crashed head-on into Sabala’s vehicle. The 41-year-old male who was driving the white vehicle was also taken to the hospital.
Sabala may still be in critical condition at UC Davis Medical Center, where the two victims from the crashes were also taken. The accidents caused traffic delays for about 45 minutes Saturday. The incidents are being investigated separately.
