Cincinnati Mother Charged for Speeding, Drinking and Driving, and Child Endangerment Reports OÂ’Connor, Acciani & Levy

(USGovernment-News.Com, July 13, 2013 ) Cincinnati – Just after midnight on Friday, police arrested Kami Rice after she was caught speeding while intoxicated, and with her four children in the backseat.

Rice was headed north on I-71 at the four mile mark when police clocked her going 98 miles per hour in her Kia Sedona. Just before she was pulled over her speed had dropped to 95 miles per hour.

Along with excessive speed police found that she had an open beer can in her cup holder, was driving without a license, and had her four children in the vehicle unrestrained. Her charges included child endangerment, speeding, driving without a license, having open container, and failing to put her children in car seats.

Although Rice was not involved in an accident, in 2011 more than 11,000 car accidents in the state of Ohio were alcohol-related. Furthermore, of these accidents approximately 2 percent were fatal. Accidents involving alcohol are more likely to occur between 8p.m. and 4a.m. according to the Ohio Department of Public Safety.

If you or a loved one has been injured in accident with an intoxicated or reckless driver, the victim may be entitled to compensation for property damage, medical bills, lost wages, and more. An experienced Cincinnati attorney can help you determine if you may be eligible to make a claim.
