Tylenol Lawyers Offering Free Online Case Review for Patients Experiencing Liver Problems

(USGovernment-News.Com, June 14, 2013 ) New York, NY – The attorneys working with ClassAction.org are reviewing complaints from patients who believed they developed liver failure due to Tylenol use. Those who believe they have suffered from acetaminophen-related liver failure after using a Tylenol product may have legal recourse. To receive a free online case review or to learn more about the side effects of Tylenol products, please visit http://www.classaction.org/tylenol.html.

More than two dozen lawsuits have been filed, alleging that use of over-the-counter Tylenol products can cause liver damage or liver failure, even when taken as directed. Allegedly, the manufacturer of Tylenol has known about the risk of liver failure due to toxicity and/or overdose and has failed to place adequate warnings and instructions on its products. Additionally, the lawsuits allege that Tylenol is defective and unreasonably dangerous, was over-promoted in regard to its safety and efficacy, and is more dangerous than other pain relievers.

In 2011 the FDA released a notice explaining the risks and complications of ingesting too much acetaminophen. In an effort to reduce the risk of severe liver injury, the FDA asked that the amount of acetaminophen in prescription combination products be limited to 325 mg per dose. While over-the-counter products, such as Tylenol, are not affected by this action, the FDA asserts that overdose from prescription combination products containing acetaminophen accounts for almost half of all cases of acetaminophen-related liver failures in the United States. An example of possible combinations includes people who take Vicodin and Tylenol products at the same time, which increases their risk of acetaminophen-related liver failure.

If you or someone you know has experienced liver failure due to Tylenol, you can learn more about your eligibility for legal recourse by visiting www.ClassAction.org and completing the free case evaluation form.
