(USGovernment-News.Com, May 04, 2013 ) Hartford, CT – Honda has announced plans to begin recalling more than 40,000 Honda Fit Sports vehicles beginning May 17th, 2013. Certain model year 2012-2013 vehicles manufactured between May 23, 2011 and March 22, 2013 may suffer from excessive yaw rates at high steering angles with certain tires. The yaw rates, which measure a vehicle’s angular velocity, are handled by the electronic stability control system.
If a vehicle has excessive rates yaw rates it could result in the improper function of the electronic stability control system and increase the risk of a car crash. Honda intends to notify owners who are affected by this recall and will update the software issue free of charge.
