(USGovernment-News.Com, May 01, 2013 ) WEST, TX – Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) announced her plans this Tuesday to schedule a hearing to investigate the role of safety oversight and negligence in the April 17 explosion that rocked the town of West, killing 15 and leaving hundreds injured. The causes of the West, TX explosion are yet unknown, however there has been much speculation in the media regarding the lack of safety measures taken in the plant’s history.
“I cannot rest until we get to the bottom of what caused the disaster,” said Senator Boxer in a statement. Her goal is to unearth not only the cause, but pinpoint how this tragedy could have been avoided by taking a “…look at how the laws on the books are being enforced and whether there is a need to strengthen them.”
