(USGovernment-News.Com, April 26, 2013 ) New Haven, CT – A recent study performed by the Mount Sinai Medical Center’s World Trade Center Health Program concluded that 9/11 first responders have a 15 percent higher rate of developing cancer than those who were not involved.
The research was based on data from 20,948 participants throughout 2001 to 2008. The results show that there were a total of 575 cases of cancer among the first responders, whereas there were 499 cases among a sample taken from a general population of Americans. This is largely due to these individuals being near toxic fumes at the World Trade Center site which are linked to the cause of cancer.
If you or a family member has developed cancer as a result of being a first responder to the 9/11 attacks, the victim may be eligible to receive compensation for any losses and damages that have occurred. Our attorneys at Jonathan Perkins Injury Lawyers may be able to help you receive the compensation you deserve for helping America during this time of need.
