(USGovernment-News.Com, April 23, 2013 ) Dothan, AL -- ABC Learn is a non-profit educational corporation that assists with reading, music, math, language arts, and free tutoring under No Child Left Behind (NCLB). ABC Learn has provided tutoring assistance in Los Angeles County and other surrounding Counties since 1996. They understand that it can be difficult for teachers to educate children with differing levels of understanding in the classrooms of today. Through the coordinated efforts of the LAPD, LAUSD, LA County Department of Education and other public officials, ABC Learn has received success in reaching and assisting students in a positive manner to enable them to achieve much higher scholastic scores.
Not only does ABC Learn assist students, but they also work with parents and teachers together to raise educational levels and standards. This approach has allowed ABC Learn to hold many successful workshops, for which they received numerous letters of thanks from parents, students and schools that have been extremely pleased with the programs.
English as a Second Language Program – ABC Learn have been offering an English as a Second Language program (ESL) since September 2009. The scope of the ESL program is to improve English reading, writing, speaking and listening skills for adults. All classes are held in a small group format, and they are broken into four class levels - low beginner, high, beginner, intermediate, and intermediate II. There is no registration fee, no purchasing of materials or books and no citizenship requirements. ABC Learn only requires each person to take a free 45 minute assessment test in English to determine class level.
Tutoring – ABC Learn is a California state approved provider of No Child Left Behind tutoring. These tutoring services are offered to students at no cost. If your child is receiving a free lunch, a reduced price lunch or attending a Title I school, they may qualify for this free service.
Youth Build – Another program offered by ABC Learn is YouthBuild, which is a charter school that provides job and life training skills for ages 16-24.
Community Outreach – ABC Learn uses its case management program, Community Outreach, to connect area residents with other local service organizations that can provide them with valuable resources and additional assistance.
