(USGovernment-News.Com, April 12, 2013 ) Irving, TX – Early Thursday morning a charter bus carrying dozens of passengers veered out of control and was overturned during a crash in Irving, Texas. Lonny Haschel, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, confirmed that two passengers were killed and approximately 36 more were injured.
According to reports the bus veered out of the northbound lane on the President George Bush Turnpike, hit a rubber roadside barrier, careened back onto the highway, hit a concrete barrier and then overturned.
Crews arrived on the scene quickly to assist passengers, many of whom were elderly, out of the overturned bus and transported injured victims to local area hospitals. Reports vary, however it is believed that some passengers are in critical condition.
