(USGovernment-News.Com, April 11, 2013 ) SACRAMENTO, CA – Trumpette, an upscale boutique for baby clothing and accessories in Sacramento, issued a recall for approximately 33,000 pairs of baby socks yesterday, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The socks are being recalled because embellishments attached to the toes may become detached and become a potential choking hazard.
The styles affected by the recall are “Aubree’s” and “Hearts”, sized newborn to 12 months. The embellishments of concern are flowers attached to the toes on "Aubree's" style socks, and bows on the toes of “Hearts” style socks. The company, which distributes its products through their retail store at 2020 I St., website trumpette.com, and various other online retailers, has received eight reports of detached embellishments; at this point, no injuries have been reported.
Recalled and defective products can cause injuries from mild to severe, sometimes causing life-threatening injuries to persons of all ages. It is especially tragic when such injuries occur in infants and children.
