(USGovernment-News.Com, March 23, 2013 ) Manchester, CT – Hillstown Road in Manchester, Connecticut is littered with potholes and several tire blowouts have been caused by the bad road conditions. Although town crews have been attempting to patch the potholes up each day, fluctuating weather conditions are not allowing the patches to stick.
According to the town clerk’s office about a dozen damage claims have been filed by drivers who have had to replace tires, alloy wheels, and additional mechanical damage. One motorist claims that the potholes caused more than $800 worth of damage to her vehicle. The town public works department in Hillstown has marked the potholes with “Caution” signs and cones, but drivers may want to avoid the road altogether if possible. According to Public Works Director Mark Carlino a more long-lasting hot asphalt fix may not be applied to the potholes until April.
