(USGovernment-News.Com, January 31, 2013 ) WEST PALM BEACH, FL – The National Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has reported that those who own a Toyota vehicle throughout the Southeast U.S. may have to deal with a sudden problem this week. As some of most popular vehicles sold in Florida, Toyota owners are encouraged to look into the Vehicle Identification Numbers posted by the NHTSA to determine whether or not their vehicle may have a defect.
The defect found in Florida Toyota vehicles involves malfunctioning airbag sensors. To date, there are about 3,235 automobiles that are being recalled at the Southeast Toyota in Deerfield Beach. The recall was issued due to the improper calibration of the airbag weight sensors in the front passenger seats. The threat of an airbag failing to deploy or unexpectedly deploying are the biggest concerns.
The following vehicles are affected by the recall: the 2010-12 Sequoia; 2009-2012 Tacoma, 4Runner, Camry (and Hybrid), Prius and RAV4; the 2012 Prius V; Prius and RAV4; the 2009-10 Avalon, FJ Cruiser and Highlander Hybrid; the 2009-13 Highlander and Venza; and the 2010-13 Corolla, Sienna and Tundra. At this time, neither Lexus nor Scion models have been recalled.
Those Florida residents who own a Toyota vehicle are encouraged to contact the National Traffic Highway Safety Administration to inquire about the safety of their vehicle. For any further questions, contact Gordon & Doner at 1-855-722-2552.
