(USGovernment-News.Com, October 31, 2012 ) Dothan, AL – C.S.I. - no, not the crime scene television show, but Christian Services Inc.- is helping people across Mississippi who are less fortunate. C.S.I. is unique in that they combine the resources of many different organizations, churches and other religious entities to increase the effectiveness of spreading love, hope and help to those in need throughout Mississippi.
One example of how C.S.I. utilizes its resources, is in food distribution. Last year, C.S.I. shipped over 218 tons of donated food to nearly 30 ministries and agencies at no cost to these agencies, who, in turn, were able to provide meals to thousands of hungry individuals. Working with Meals on Wheels enabled C.S.I. to provide almost 72,000 meals to homebound elderly.
C.S.I.’s Liberty ministries enabled the organization to house 64 men last year and, by combining resources, allowed placement of another dozen men into additional recovery programs operated by other entities.
Christian Services also operates a thrift store that it uses to provide furniture, clothing and other items to those in need. As an example, 25 women were provided clothing that allowed them to be nicely presentable while appearing for job interviews- an example of helping people to help themselves!
Children are not forgotten either. Last year over 1,100 children received gifts at Christmas and Easter, but even better than that, they received a show of love.
While providing for the physical needs of individuals, C.S.I. provides each person with an attentive ear, prayer and encouragement even if they are not qualified to receive financial assistance, thereby spreading the love of Jesus to those who otherwise may never have that experience.
