Andersen Windows Lawsuit: Vinyl Clad Windows Are Defective

(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 27, 2012 ) New York, NY – An Andersen Windows lawsuit filed in Minnesota is claiming that the company’s 400 Series Tilt Wash vinyl clad windows are defective. The suit alleges that the windows contain a design and/or manufacturing defect which allows moisture inside the window and encourages mold growth and accelerated rotting and decay. If you have noticed these or other problems with your 400 Series Tilt Wash vinyl clad windows, you may also have legal recourse to seek compensation for repair and replacement costs, property damage and other losses. To learn more about your eligibility for an Andersen windows lawsuit, visit http://www.classaction.org/andersen-vinyl-clad-windows.html and complete the free case review form.

The plaintiffs in the suit claim that they began noticing Andersen Windows problems approximately four years after the vinyl clad windows were installed in their home. Around Sept. 2008, they spotted a mushroom bearing form of mold growth in the outer window frame and contacted Andersen, which sent representatives to their home. During the visit, Andersen’s representatives removed some of the windows from their frames, drilled holes and injected a chemical solution that they claimed would fix their Andersen Windows problems. This “fix” was designed only to delay the deterioration but not repair it, the Andersen Windows lawsuit claims. According to the suit, the only way to truly fix the plaintiff’s Andersen Windows problems is to remove and replace them, which would require adjustment and resizing, result in a smaller window class and damage the walls, studs, siding and trim.

Allegedly, as a result of the defective windows, customers have or will experience damage to their windows, adjacent framing walls and siding and will need to expend thousands of dollars to remove the windows, install new windows and replace damaged items, such as curtains or blinds. In light of these allegations, the attorneys working with Class Action.org would like to hear from consumers who experienced Andersen windows problems to find out if they can file a claim against the manufacturer to financially compensate them for damages.
