Houston Real Estate License School Representative Discusses New Rules For Those Seeking Broker's License

(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 30, 2011 ) HOUSTON, TEXAS - Real estate professional who plan to further their education and become a broker, as of January 2012, new rules set by the Texas Real Estate Commission take effect.

Instead of the current two-year requirement, applicants will need four years of experience as a licensed salesperson. This can assure the client will get a broker who knows the ins and outs of the business.

"Consumers need a broker who can help them properly with any needs they may have," says Linda Robicheaux of Spencer Real Estate School, aka Spencer Training and Testing Development Inc., a real estate license school.

Also, in effect January 2012, having a bachelor's degree or higher can no longer be an avenue to achieve a broker's license. Prior to this new rule, applicants were allowed a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college to receive all the "related" education requirements for a broker's license.

"It is important for an applicant to have as much real estate experience as they can get," says Robicheaux, who offers real estate training. "These new rules are instated to help not only help the potential broker, but also the consumer."

On September 1, 2012, brokers who need to renew their license can complete a new six hour course related to broker responsibilities. This course is added to the six hour classes in legal and ethics updates.

Real estate licensing courses, for a broker's license, can be the start of a great career. These new rules are created for brokers to give their clients the best service possible.
