Michigan Violent Crime Clean Up Specialist Warns Against Blood Flies

(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 15, 2011 ) Pontiac, Michigan -- What do you do when your rental property has been the central focal point of a crime scene? You suddenly have reporters coming over and asking questions as well as police cruisers pulling in and out of your driveway. There is – ‘Do Not Cross’ signs and tape posted over your doorways and the whole neighborhood is talking. Worse, there are two dead bodies in your apartment complex and you will have to decide how to clean that up. It is every property owners worst nightmare. Up until recently there weren’t too many experts in body clean up in Oakland County but that has changed.

Brian Zajack of Great Lakes Bio Recovery cleans up violent crimes and blood situations. In fact, he does it better than anyone because he has first hand experience as a fire fighter. Zajack has cleaned up some of the worst crime scenes in Metro Detroit and does the job that very few will do. “One thing property owners must keep in mind that it is illegal to transport bio hazardous material in their vehicles.” says Brian Zajack. “It is important to get up all of the blood in the floor, grout work, and tiles so there won’t be any blood flies.”

A toxic environment is going to have traces of human blood, hair and this is breeding ground for blood flies. These actually come from the bacteria that is left behind in a violent crime clean up situation and it is very unsanitary. Sadly, a lot of bio clean up companies are new to the game and do not make any preparations to take care of this sorely missed detail. Blood has a way of getting into some very tight spaces especially if guns are used. Blood can seep into the floorboards of a house and also into the walls if the floor is uneven. This means that the baseboards must be taken out and sometimes you need to replace the wood paneling and wall paper.

It is important to do a clean job and to remove all necessary blood and bone matter. These are things that the average cleaning company will miss. Often times appliances will have to be removed from the premises as pools of body matter accumulate behind them. A brand new website that features news on this matter has been posted and you can find it at: http://www.1crimescenecleanupmichigan.org/
