Mortgage Lenders Open PandoraÂ’s Box with Shoddy Documents and Robo-Signers

(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 20, 2011 ) Livonia, MI -- The Foreclosure Prevention Workshop will hear from three experts who are in the forefront of the legal battles against illegal foreclosed seizures. Real Estate attorneys Daniel P. Marsh, David Smith and Teresa R. Martin will speak on all the latest ways to prevent, delay and even stop the foreclosure of the home or investment properties.

The workshop will take place on August 27, 2011 from 9am to 1pm at the Davenport University Livonia Campus located at 19499 Victor Parkway, 48152.

Forecloser has no right to seize property

Real estate law throughout the United States requires that before moving to foreclose, a trust or bank must already own the mortgage and related promissory note. Otherwise, courts have ruled, a forecloser has no right to seize a house.

Because of their “dubious” practices mortgage lenders are losing in American court rooms every day. And, still, as one of the industry's top representatives admitted to the Reuters News Service, “The federal settlements haven't put a stop to their questionable practices!”

In an interview with Reuters, David Stevens, president of the Mortgage Bankers Association said, “Some loan servicers continue to cut corners." Nearly all borrowers facing foreclosure are delinquent, he said, but "the real question is whether the servicer complied with all legal requirements."

The loss of a home is "the most critical time in a family's life," and if foreclosure paperwork is faulty homeowners should contest it. "Families should be using every opportunity they can to protect their rights."

The entire audience will walk away from the Foreclosure Prevention Workshop with the knowledge regarding Michigan foreclosure laws that are on our side.
