(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 22, 2011 ) Orlando, Florida – Morgan and Morgan law firm will represent two individuals who were injured in an Apopka shooting allegedly involving Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather. The two men contacted the Florida law firm following a fight at a Feb. 27 house party during which a gunman reportedly opened fire.
The two men who have been retained as clients of Morgan and Morgan have named Meriweather as the gunman. However, attorney John Morgan, who will represent the shooting victims, expressed his concerns when asked as to whether he had any doubts that Meriweather was was the shooter of his clients.
“I have a lot of doubt about that,” Mr. Morgan said during an interview on WEEI’s Dennis & Callahan Morning show. “That’s what these fellas told me, but I don’t assume that to be true at all. I assume nothing to be true until we get an investigation completed.”
The Orange County SherriffÂ’s Office has identified Meriweather as being present at the shooting but declined to further characterize his involvement in the case, while Morgan and MorganÂ’s investigation into confirming MeriweatherÂ’s whereabouts on the night of the incident is still ongoing.
“We have a lot of things that we believe happened, about where he [Meriweather] was then, and when he left, and when maybe he even came back,” Morgan said during the WEEI interview regarding his firm’s investigation. “So, I don’t want to comment on that, but we’re working on that.”
No one has been charged with the shooting, which hospitalized one victim, who was shot in the face, in critical condition.
