(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 03, 2009 ) Washington, DC - The U.S. Department of the TreasuryÂ’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) will be conducting two conference calls regarding the 2009 Bank Enterprise Award (BEA) Program funding round. These calls will serve as a forum for potential applicants to ask questions of CDFI Fund staff about the BEA application materials and award process. The schedule and instructions for accessing the conference calls are outlined below.
BEA Program Overview
The BEA Program was created in 1994 to support FDIC-insured financial institutions around the country that are dedicated to financing and supporting community and economic development activities. The BEA Program complements the community development activities of insured depository institutions (i.e., banks and thrifts) by providing financial incentives to expand investments in CDFIs and to increase lending, investment, and service activities within economically distressed communities.
