WASHINGTON— On June 7-8, Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson will travel to Houston, Texas. On June 7, Secretary Johnson will participate in workforce engagements with Transportation Security Administration employees.
On June 8, Secretary Johnson will join U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director León Rodríguez, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, and other federal and local dignitaries to deliver congratulatory remarks at a naturalization ceremony for 41 citizenship candidates at the U.S. Courthouse. Secretary Johnson will also meet with community leaders to discuss the Department’s continued efforts to expand partnerships with community organizations and with state and local officials on civil rights and civil liberties to safeguard local communities. Following the meeting, Secretary Johnson will participate in a media availability.
Later, Secretary Johnson will deliver remarks entitled “Finding the Balance: Border Security in the 21st Century” at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy.
