Ballads for Ballots 2008 becomes Featured July Sponsor for InfamousGuitar.com $5,000 Guitar Solo Contest

(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 03, 2008 ) Dallas, TX – HCD Research, host of the “BalladsForBallots” in July, a video contest for the best and funniest Democrat and Republican presidential campaign songs, is the Featured Sponsor for July at InfamousGuitar.com. Joining companies such as JamPlay.com, GuitarPartsCentral.com and Dry Hill Studios as contest sponsors, MediaCurves hopes to attract the talent at InfamousGuitar.com to participate in its competition.

“Ballads for Ballots 2008” is a national music video contest sponsored by HCD Research, a communications research firm headquartered in Flemington, NJ. The firm is partnering with The Tribune Company to host the contest on its mediacurves.com web site and on The Tribune Company’s The Swamp web site.

HCD Research is inviting contestants to submit an original song or song parody approximately 45-90 seconds in length in support of their political party or candidate. The first 100 qualified entries will receive $25 and become eligible for two grand prizes of $5,000 for the best Republican and Democrat video. The contest began on June 15 and will conclude on July 25. To learn more about the contest go to: http://www.mediacurves.com/balladsforballots/rules.cfm

Fox News will also be featuring the contest on its regional television stations and national web sites. Examples of the music video entries will also be played periodically on XM Radio.

Viewers will evaluate the music videos on mediacurves.com, the Tribune Company’s website, The Swamp website, and other national media outlets. The top 15 videos for each party will be judged by a panel of noted political personalities, who will select the top three videos for each party.

The top three videos for each party will be studied by mediacurves.com panelists (a large national panel of opt in consumers) and two grand prize winners will be selected -- one for each party. Each winner will receive a $5,000 cash award.

The winning entries will be posted on mediacurves.com and other national media outlets during the last week in August.
